Alright guys and gals. I have been a console gamer my entire life. There are some games on the pc lately that I really like such as H1Z1. And a few others. The desktop I'm looking at is the Area51 A51R2-1172SLV that can be found on b&h photo. Com. My questions are as follows...

Will this be upgradeable in the future?
I see other models with a 1500watt PS this comes with a 850w PS. Is 850 enough?
If I get a 4k monitor will this support it? I won't game in 4k but I do Ariel photography and film in 4k.

I was going to get a laptop but this seems to be quite a bit better than a laptop and cost less. Any advice is much appreciated.

It's a top-end, overpriced gaming PC. Yes, it will supported. For that price you can get a similarly powerful gaming laptop from Clevo.
    850 should be enough, yes.
    Yes, it should, (displayport).
    Define "better" and "cost less".
I'm not trying to come off as ironic, in the past maybe I would have recommended an Alienware mobile machine, but I consider Alienware machines recently, especially desktop offers, to be kind of hard to justify paying for.

I want to switch to pc gaming. I was looking at a few desktops and I must have wifi because where I live in BFE Michigan I can't get internet. Luckily my Verizon plan for cell phones has a grandfathered unlimited data plan so I use that to game. My ping is 20 and DL is 55-60 Mbps. I was looking at the MSI gt72 but I think this desktop is more future proof. Lastly I have a huge gift card to B&H photo so I will be buying from them.

The Area 51 is a standard desktop being able to upgrade the GPU when you need to. I think there was £50 difference when I specced out a similar machine by parts so I picked the premade one and the nicer case in the end. 850W should be enough for a SLI setup. 4k should be fine with displayport you will get 60Hz 4k.

That sounds good. I think I will order one and order a nice Asus monitor to go along with it.

I was gonna order it but stopped when I learned that it has a crippled motherboard which only supports a Triple 980 GTX setup but not more, like if you put a Triple Titan X or maybe other cards it won't boot. It's a BIOS issue that DELL doesn't care to fix for over a year. The motherboard is not upgreadable as it is custom made for that case so this is no different than buying a high end laptop and you can't upgrade it. That's why I went with a custom built PC from Origin PC (check specs in my sig) which is fully upgradeable and ORIGIN PC is a company that 3 DELL executives opened when they left Alienware, it is like the new Alienware as now Alienware all has to offer is crippled low performance laptops and this Area 51 tank that is over prices and not upgradeable

I own an Area 51 R2. The only reason being is I got it for a steal much cheaper than I could build it my self for or I could get someone else to build it for me. It does have limitations but I have learned to work inside them.

well it all comes down to your needs. if you're happy nothing else matters. I see you were able to upgrade the RAM from the slow 2100 MHz. RAM they offer to 2400 MHz. RAM

    Good job :)

I suggest building your own desktop, never buy one form a boutique. If you never have watch a few youtube videos, find a friend that knows how or something. Its way easier than most people think and you can buy exactly what "YOU" want and cheaper than a boutique.
