I just got off the phone with Alienware Support and was told one option for obtaining a new motherboard is to go through Dell/Alienware. I need a quote on a replacement motherboard so I can use my computer.

I need to replace it ASAP so please contact me at your soonest convenience with the price of the motherboard with shipping + tax.

Is there a list of compatible mobos that I can buy and plug in? I just want to replace this and fix my computer!!! I have contacted a few alienware emails and they tell me "they dont sell mobos, contact a reseller". How are they gonna leave me with a broken computer?!?!?

I think they meant they're all sold out of mthrbrds; they certainly used to sell Aurora mthrbrds; that desktop is discontinued & they probably liquidated all their remaining stock, so you can try eBay &/or put your mthrbrd part# into google/bing & see which vendors have one (those vendors which most likely bought the remaining stock direct from Dell are in Texas, you want your spare parts to come from Texas because that means they most likely came direct from Dell). Your part# is on a tag next to the 24pin ATX cable, middle far-right of the board. It will say dp/n & begin with a 0, example 07JNH0 (the part # for that is simply known as 7JNH0). If you need advice from an AlienRep, you may get a faster response on AlienArena or Dell AlienClub (their server is down at the moment) forums. I ran your sevice tag, you have an Aurora R4; your compatible mthrbrd part#'s are 7JNH0 & FPV4P. Either will work in R4, however, if you have Windows8 then your product key is inside your bios chip etc, & a replacement board, you'll have to ask the person if it is a W7 or W8 board, some vendors can not know that information. I say this for you & for those in the future who stumble on this post. Do you have any thoughts on what I said, or are you good.

It is correct. They have both part#'s listed; if you want a direct replacement, find your part# tag. The server is down, but here is the post I was part of ( original) if it helps. Serverparts is based in China I believe, I'm based in the US, so this $175 board (2 available) would be my choice. Anyways, expect to pay between $125 - $225 for an R4 board. Anything over $225 is too much, find it cheaper elsewhere. It is Saturday, no one can ship anything til Monday, so you have the weekend to keep shopping bing/google/ebay for 'the one'.

Just purchased the one you linked me. You have been a great help, thank you kindly! Saved me money, and assured I'll be getting the right mobo. Thank you thank you.
