right i picked up a alienware m7700 d900k for my girlfriend as she loves my one
im good when it comes down to fixing desktops and have fixed some laptops in my passed
this one i got was untested due to the guy not having a charger
i tryed pluging the power lead in and had some smoke come out the back so i unpluged the power right away
i have taken the full laptop apart everything looks fine in there apart from when i had taken the headsinck off thats where i can smell more of the smoke
anyidea's on what it can be ?
i fort it may be the cpu or Motherboard
when i pluged the power lead in for the 1st time it didnt have any lights come on or the power button didnt work

I have tryed powering the laptop up with the heatsick off as if the cpu starts heading up I no the board is not dead and the cpu is cold as anything no power lights coming on at all and no chargering light comes on so I have orderd a new board what was far from being cheap neary 350

new board come all fixed and working great so now my girlfriend is happy as she can play wow and css again
