    m9750 cpu upgrade won't boot

    i bought a used t7200 cpu off ebay to upgrade my t5500 in my m9750, once installed computer would not boot. is the chip bad or is a motherboard bios update needed. i am currently running xp pro with mb bios version 0c03. i called ztronics and tech said it should be plug and play

    did you put the old cpu back to test if its the mobo or the cpu at fault?

    then sounds like you have a bad upgrade cpu..check for bent pins.
    also should be fully compatible.. not sure why its not booting something is shorting it too boot properly.
    like you said old one works fine. so has to be a bad cpu..check the pins if not send back to seller quickly..
