    That is a M17 not M17x R1 which is much older, and no, do not get either of them. The least M17x you should aim for is the M17x R2 with the 1200p RGB screen.

    Yes, definitely aim for the M17X R2 - they support dual graphics unlike the newer models and have the gorgeous 1200p screen. I installed the 1200p screen in my M17X R1, but the highest configuration the R1 supports is a Core 2 Quad Extreme QX9300, 8GB Ram, and dual 5870M's.... the R2 can support way more power than this.

    I don't game just want some more power than my Toughbook. I would just be using it at work with Chrysler witech and surfing the web and emails. Maybe watching dvds.

    that is area-51 m17x R1... im usin like that right now. and it has 1920 * 1200 display.
