Sounds like the video going out. Have you checked to see if the card is overheating at all when it does work?

i wanted to know if the nvidia 8700m's are better then the 7950 gtx's i got fitted ?

and would the 8700m's work in my laptop as got them in my old laptop what broken but the cards are still working fine

I am not sure if they will work but they will have better performance. Always worth a shot if you can find them. I've upgraded the card in my m5750 (came out the same time as your alienware) several different times.

right b4 when i got it booted up and had video sometimes after playing games for under 30mins it would shut down and woodnt have any video but i just went and got a usb notebook cooler and been playing cs go on high settings and my gpu's have not gone over 90

one more thing i want to add is when i go to power up my power button is orange but if i take my battery out the power button is blue
so i fort it maybe my charger on the way out and thats why im not all ways getting video just in case the charger is not putting into the laptop to fully power up at times as the battery is not chargering very well tho only last month the battery used to last for around 45mins
