After installing Windows 7 I reinstalled many of the Alienware Vista drivers but many devices are still using a driver that Microsoft installed and I am wondering if it is causing a problem. The driver is driving the "Computer", Disk Drives, IEEE 1394, Keyboard, Monitors, Processors....and the list goes on. The driver is dated 6/21/2006 and is Microsoft 6.1.7600.16385. Should I change this to an alienware Vista driver?

Here is a problem I am trying to solve. I have a PCExpress/54 CF card reader that works really fast when its driver is installed. Unfortunately, whenever I restart my computer, the card readers driver is replaced with the Microsoft driver that I mentioned above and then it works at about 1/10th the speed. This never happened when I had Vista. Any advice would be really appreciated.

I've found that the Chipset driver is the one used by all of those things listed in my original post. So, my real question is, "Should I try to revert back to the Alienware Vista driver instead of the newer driver that Microsoft recommends for Windows 7?"
