    Hello everyone.

I have decided to give my old m15x to one of my friends. Problem is there is only integrated GPU and I'd like to tell him what are his possibilities for an upgrade. Could you please tell me what are safe GPU's to put into it? I'd probably rather skip 8800GTM and 9800GTM as they always died in about year so even a bit weaker ati card would be welcomed.

Also if you have a link somewhere I could order it from or at least rought idea how much it will cost, please let me know.

    Thank you very much!

I have tried that one. Was super expensive and after all with very old drivers as you can't have any never in this machine it was working worse then 9800GTM so sold it.

I just really want an ATI card for some reasonable price which will be surely working in that PC. Don't want to throw away anymore money for experimenting or cards which won't last.

Well, the radeon 3870 is a good option (about the same performance as the 8800GTX). It costs about $150 on ebay. You'll see them listed as master and slave but for you it shouldn't matter.

The thing is that the heatsink isn't exactly the same, for starters, if you had the lower end 8600GT, it will be too small. If you had the 8800GTX, it will be the right size but will need some cutting.

I had 8800GTX yes. Well I guess I can do the cutting.
