I have an aging M17x that's starting to get a bit sluggish, I reformat it every six months or so to keep it clean but I think it's time to upgrade the RAM.
    It currently has 4GB DDR2 SO-DIMM at 667MHz - 2 x 2048MB.
    I'd like to upgrade to 2 x 4gb or 2 x 8gb but i'm not sure if that's possible with my motheboard.
So firstly, is it possible (specs below), what do you recommend and can I use DDR3?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I thought 8gb was the max in the M17-R1? Could be wrong
