Problem with Area-51 m17x ALIENFX removed from command center

I installed the command center after doing a fresh OS install. I have installed the KB patch but still alienfx is not coming in command center.

All the lights are on and i am having no lightening issues. It is just that I have no control. Like lights should go off in battery mode, also i can't change the lights etc etc ..

 

Need a bit more info... model? Vista/W7? Command Center version?

I mean that I am not even getting the ALIENFX option in command center. Only option i have is alientouch, aliensense and alienfusion.

1. try 2.10 it works for me in windows 7.

2.Touchpad:I downloaded a driver from Synaptics and it works with OSD. Install that and press fn+f12 to turn on/off touchpad.

I will try the synaptics driver .. but I have to disable the OSD or else keyboard and touchpad are disabled

Yeah .. Things are back online though touch pad is still dark and I have lost aliean sense

just one more thing, I don't have light pipe but command center is detecting lite pipe, any way to fix it ..

Just one thing, is it a limitation to have only 3 options in command center. I liked aliensense but can't seem to get it anymore

I don't have aliensense either and personally I think that is useless. Also, even though fusion is showed up in command center it doesn't do anything.

I think you should try to install all the drivers in the correct order which is listed in alienware knowledgebase. Try to use latest driver because some old vista drivers just don't work well in windows 7.

 

i've just install the latest version of CC 2.5.54.0, and i got my alien sense not working anymore, ive tried to unistall it and let windows reinstalling it back but it still doesn't work... anyone have this problem?

 

Yeah, I had the same issue. I upgraded from 2.1.10 to 2.5.54.0, things were worse for me. I have lost alienfx control (apparently due to some bios update) and i was unable to install 2.5.54.0 even i deleted all the registry entries manually. I reinstalled fresh OS and installed 2.1.10 back but no alienfx control.
One thing is very strange, I reverted to my original OS (Win Vista 32-Bit) (before installing current OS i.e., Win7 64 Bit) that shipped with the system and control was back. I shifted to 64-bit system and same issue . No support from Alienware so I am stuck right now ... back of luck for your problem

I am a bit late to this conversation but I just got an Area 51 m17x-r1 computer and I upgraded it to Windows 7 64 bit and I have been trying to find the version of Command Center that works with this model and I have been unsuccessful. I see that everyone here has figured this out and I would appreciate if someone could send me a copy of Command Center so I can at least get the ball moving. Since I got it used I don't have a Hive account so I am now stuck. Thanks in advance.
