Hello, I was wondering could someone please help me I bought my alienware in april 2008, I had it back for a hinge replacement summer 2009 or 2010 right before my warranty was up, I pretty sure it fried itself yesterday cause it just turned itself off and I could smell, a burning smell coming from the fan my components look fine, but I need a service manual pdf to completely take it apart........(she won't turn back on the battery supply blinks green/ and my lithum battery lights up all blue)

all Im currently finding is stuff related to the M15X after dell bought them and nothing pertaining to the older design(I need to Disassemble it without physically wrecking it), god you guys do not understand how broken I am right now this couldn't have happened @ a worst time I'm unemployed, and extremely broke!

I think my harddrive might be fine tho I just don't have any means to get my data off my sata. I've already removed it but I need to remove the top cover/monitor hinges/ possibly the lcd to get to the mother board I have pretty good feeling the top parts of the case are gonna are gonna crack or break if not done in properly any help or visual instruction anyone could provide would be immensely appreciated

Go to the alienware website and go to the support section and search it. It's all there.

well, thinks for your assistance, I have, but and I've removed almost ever single screw I could visibly see on the bottom of my system, but all the has is the pdf for the M15X which is similar but not identical to my system, if you could link to the materials pertainting specifically too m15x -R1, I'd be highly appreciative.... center console is different the hinge cover is different my entire arm rest is one modeled piece not including the lcd display therefore I do not seea small little flap to flip up and unhook cables and pull off/ unlock cables like the directions for the M15X after 2009?

It shouldn't be too hard when I had one I took it apart at least 10 times. I just followed the service manual but I could have sworn there was a youtube video of how to disassemble it. If I find it I'll post it up.

Nice profile pic, like I said the link he just gave me is kinda useless as it for replacing things alienware, would rather you send it to them or buy a whole new labtop in my extreme case( I have no money), there really not supporting the m15x pre-dell anymore, but here's my problem some of the photos look exactly like my system but, I had my monitor/ hinges replaced before my warranty ran out on my chasis is it necessary, that I i remove my monitor casing/hinge cover? to get my arm rest off so I can access the cables under it and detach them to see the top of the motherboard, Im so freaking frusterated my arm rest is all ready lose its just every time I attempt to pull it up and take it of I run into my lcd screen/casing which is the freaking problem..... I had some one look @ it already while inspecting it he dropped my power brick on the the arm rest and cracked it so I'm not really sweating that @ this point considering its made like utter garbage, I just don't wanna damage anything else my hinges have held up fine sence the repair my monitor is perfect and the light pipe was working fine before the motherboard frying I can't believe no one can help me
