    My M17x is about 2 years old ish


    I also have a 2.26GHZ P8400 in it, id like to upgrade to a quad core can i do this ?

    you can use the mobility reference driver on amd's site

    if you got a m17x that's 2 years old you can't upgrade to a quad but if you got a m17 you could get a q9000 and just replace the dual
    (you likely got a m17 as th m17x never came with 3870 and wold have had to be hand upgraded)
