I just installed a fresh Windows 7 on a brand new internal hard drive due to my original crashed. Now I've downloaded and installed the newest driver and software Authen Tec and Vitakey but finger reader on my m17 still doesn't work. Whenever I try to set up Vitakey with the fingerprints, it says always says "Unable to detect fingerprint device!" I tried to look for the hardware under System Devices and still no dice, anybody know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

did the computer detect the fingerptint?if it does detect, and found on the device manager, just use windows update to update your fingerprints, after that uninstall it on the device manager, the windows should found new hardware and install the necessary driver,it should work after that, hope it helps,i have this problem too.

hmm,if my memory serve me correctly,i do also had this problem, try installing the driver from alienware, not from authentec, and see what's come out,and if your fingerprints works before the fres install,i think it just a matter of driver.
