I'm curious as to whether there is a setting in BIOS or Vista (I skipped Vista all together, have no 'behind the scenes' experience with it whatsoever) that might be preventing the Numlock and Delete keys from working on the m9750 that I'm rehabbing.

When I try to ctrl - alt - delete, nothing happens because the Del key does not work; I can't even delete text (have tried in command prompt and Word).

In regards to Numlock, the LED indicator light does not turn off, it stays on at all times.

When I hit Insert, the typical over-writing feature does not take effect.

In the On-Screen Keyboard, both Del and Numlock work, which is making me wonder if perhaps the keyboard on this particular machine is gone. However, I have noticed that there are 2 Delete keys (a second part of the laptop's numberpad) that does work with shift. Might there be a connection to this alternate Del working and the main Del not?

Have you tried using an external keyboard?
