    Can Alienware m17x-R1 use Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium

    Hi im upgrading my computer to 8 gbs ram and need to go from 32 bit to 64 bit os I have the Alienware M17x-R1 I am wondering if i am going to face any compatibility issues when doing a fresh install from 32 bit to 64 bit.

    As long as it has at least a Core2 processor you should be good to go.

    Yep, that one will work fine with 64bit.

    Since he had a 32bit windows i tend to believe that he has the pre Dell model m17x-R1 not the M17x which came only with 64bit OS.

    Can you confirm this, ElderJoe1?

    Could be, in that case he can use the drivers on myHive, under support.alienware.com, we have the main drivers for Windows 764 Bits
