I've sent my laptop in twice already for hinge issues on my m15x the last time it only took 4-5 months before it started to happen again. I've also had webcam issues as well, they've replaced it once and now that stopped working again as well.

My warranty expires this December so I called tonight to see what my options are. At first they told me that after this 3rd time I'm stuck since my warranty won't cover it again and they would not let me extend it because it's a "legacy system". He then told me that maybe it was a good time to start saving for a new laptop. I was not happy so I asked to speak to his supervisor (I was suprised that that first guy was actually american lol). He put me on hold for 20 minutes and came back. His supervisor said they'll continue to replace the hinges for me even way after the warranty no matter how it happens. I told them I'm sick and tired of sending in this $2,700 laptop. The last two times were during school and it hurt me greatly. I told them it's sad that every time I open this laptop that I'm scared that the hinges will give and that it makes me keep it open more so than closed. I can't send it back right now due to finals being soon and I'm very busy with school. He told me another option is they'll refund this laptop for a brand new one if they run out of parts. I asked if I do send it in can I confirm if they have the parts or not, he said no. I can't afford to send in the laptop just for them to tell me they don't have the parts and have to wait a month for a new laptop.

I'm going to call them again tomorrow to discuss the option of the refund. Which number do you guys recommend I call? Is there an email I can email for proof? I'd really like to have some kind of evidence. I love my m15x but I'm really sick of playing this game.

I just wanted to update this thread, after a long email to Mr. Dell and talking to a different supervisor they'll be refunding me fully for my m15x towards any PC of my choice. I'm just happy that I won't have to deal with this hinge issue ever again and finally enjoy a laptop that I won't be afraid to open or take with me on the go :).

That's very good news, I'm happy for you, Veeshun!
Any specific model you have in mind if you're going to stick with Dell/Alienware?
