I have an Alienware Area-51 M15x with a Nvidia Geforce 8700M GT GPU.
I bought it from a friend, and got it with windows vista, I upgraded to windows 7 and now when I try to do the Nvidia official update for this GPU driver, The Nvidia control panel says: "You are not currently using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU" I am so lost, I cannot play any games with it at all :( I've done days of research on different forums and haven't come across anything at all...

Does anyone have any input that will remedy the situation?

CPU-Z says in the graphics tab:
    Capture.PNG

And I dont know what to do from here. It is making me over-the-top frustrated.

    Please help!

You are running the older Nvidia drivers right? There are TONS of posts on here about how the newer Nvidia drivers will NOT work with the m15x. Your choice becomes to run the other drivers (some do and are fine, others have problems with newer games) or get a compatible ATI 3870, 4850, 4870 and run that in your laptop.
