    Hi all,

Losing the will with this laptop, endless problems. Replaced the thermal paste on graphics card to see if that corrected the stuttering during game play but 15 seconds into Dragon Age Origins slows to a crawl for 30 secs then resumes for another 30 then slows again.. rinse repeat.

I've checked the temp and its not going over 65c tho am noticing the fans are at 2500(ish) and not moving any higher.

Could changing the graphics driver be of help? and if so which version and from where is the best place to get the correct ones for the 8800M GTX.

    Running 36 bios.

    Regards,

    L

You might want to take a look at this thread:

Also I believe replacing the thermal paste etc on the graphics card is a bit extreme. I have 2 laptops from Alienware now and never had problems with overheating of my 8800m GTX.

Actually, I should be more specific. I had problems but I found a simple vacuum of the heat vents and fan for both the CPU and GPU drop the temps by at least 25deg.

I'm running x36 BIOS as well with the laptopvideo2go 186.91 drivers.
