Which video card(s) are the proper replacement for an mALX laptop?
The manual says "go7800 series" everybody online refers to "go7900gtx".
I'm working on repairing an mALX and one side has a "go7900gtx" and one side has a "go7950gtx".
I know for a fact at least one of these is bad, the symtoms chance when I run them single in the A-slot trying each one.
So... WHICH video card is actually a correct replacement??
I see the 256mb standard (none at all on ebay look the same connectors and configuration as the current dead ones)
and a 512mb replacement that looks like it can't even fit in the mother board slot but they claim "mALX" on the listings...
How can I upgrade to the 512mb cards or does that take a different motherboard?
I'd love to get this computer running for my friend but the parts are hard to find.
Any help or leads are appreciated... thanks!!

Not familiar with this laptop. Can you provide a pic? What year did it come out?

This actually looks like the correct style (with a 512mb instead of factory 256mb) and it would bolt up to the motherboard (correct configuration)

Alienware mALX NVidia 7950 GTX 512MB Video Card M59/G7 - Laptop Video Cards

EVERYTHING I find on ebay and online has a different style/type connector and bolt holes that are nowhere close to looking like they would work.

HERE IT IS OUT OF THE HEATSINK / FRAME!

Any leads of the 512mb versions like pictured on ztronics or the 256mb versions that are less than these ones? Is the "partsguy.net" reliable or should I RUN RUN RUN?!

Have you emailed Ztronics? These don't look like typical mxm cards at all. They should be able to help you with what replacement part you need if no one here can.
