I can not figure out if its my lcd screen or inverter problem. I can hook the laptop up to an external monitor and it works but I can not see any video. I can adjust my dim on my screen making it brighter and darker but I can not see any video. Can my graphics card be faulty or is it an lcd inverter problem or could it be the screen not sure looking for some opinions thanks

You should check all the connections and make sure they're in tight.

Checked all connections and reseated everything still no video. My external monitor works fine

Most likely the inverter if all screen connections are refitted and secure, have seen a few tubes fail but unusual.
Test it with another screen see if that works. -
If the inverter is bad would I still be able to adjust the dimming on the screen? I can make the screen lighter and darker but I can not see video on the screen. I can see it on my monitor.

It cant be your GPU otherwise you would have no external output either.

I replaced the graphics card since to see if that made a difference. Everything works. Kinda of weird I would think if I had a picture on the external monitor it would be a screen problem but it was the graphics card
