Hey all, I did some quick google research but I didn't find a solution to my problem.

I just purchased an Alienware M15x-R1 off ebay, and it is great, but it has issues when waking up from hibernate or sleep modes. Also, it has a problem with booting up from a shutdown as well.

The only way I can get it to turn on is by pulling the battery and then plugging it into the wall, but that makes it a VERY ineffective laptop. I was reading around and noticed a lot of people with the same issue as I am currently having, but their posts are from 2008. So, I was wondering: has there been a fix for this yet?

If not, am I totally screwed?

Download the free program GPU-Z and run it.

Go to Intel.com and download the latest driver for it.

Ok, so I got the latest Intel drivers, and then I switched to the other GPU and got the latest ATI drivers for that one. The problem is still there.

When I put it into sleep mode, then close the lid and re-open it, the computer comes back on, but the screen stays black. The only thing I can do from there is press the power, it turns right off, and then I can't get it to boot back up unless I plug it in, take out the battery a few times, etc...
