I bought a m15x from a friend last week. He was on Windows XP with all the drivers running correctly, except for the AlienFX parts.

I installed W7 x64 and I've already installed all the drivers and everything is running smoothly, but I just can't get the AlienFX to work. Some lights (keybord, lightpipe, Alienware on the screen and the Alienhead) are flashing green, and some parts (touchpad, touch panel) are off.

I've tried installing Command Center, but all I get is the "unable to connect to the device" message. I also tried to install the CC on Vista, but I get the same message.

Does anyone know how can I solve this?

    Thanks.

Is it a preDell Area 51 m15x? If so then you may be installing the wrong command center. It should be the one on support.alienware.com, under myhive enter the account number and pw and download the drivers. If it is a DELL m15x then follow this troubleshooting.

It´s a pre-Dell m15x (not M15x). I bought the laptop from a friend, so I don´t have access to MyHive. I've only tried installing the command centers posted in these threads and third party apps, like AuroraLightsFX, but I get the same "unable to connect to the device" message.
