High guys, I had 2gb 1066 pc-8500 ram and a 1gb stick of the same and my computer works, (came with 2x1gb) now I just bought a 4gb stick of corsair 1066 pc-8500 and the bios won;t start with the 4gb and the 2gb in any combination. I am going back to the store tomorrow, but for now does anyone know why this is not working?

So i think the stick is just broken... can;t find where to delete this post
-
you can't and yes the stick is broken
but you should upgrade to a pair it's always better cause some stick might be incompatible with others and dual channel even if it's not that much of a boost is still a nice bonus -
Did you try to start up using only 1 4GB stick inside?
-
I tried the above yes James.
granyte- I know but I am poor, when I have more money I;ll get another 4.
So I went to the store and we tried a different corsair stick, it still didn't work so we then used some g.skill ram(never heard of it) and it works so its all good I don't know why the corsair was incompatible though. -
i don't know how much you paid but they are quite cheap over there
Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, Memory, Laptop Memory, 8GB (2 x 4GB) -
Its not how expensive it is ( mine was $40) its more how cheap I am
