So ran intel XTU today and ran the benchmark built in and scored the highest score I ever had on it. Is it because of the new operating system? nothing is changed. if anyone wants to use my profile ill try and upload it here. I may have to change the type of file to upload it so download it and change the type back to .xtu and load it into your intel XTU profiles. give it a shot , I scored 923! not bad for running it at 40x 39x39x39.

obviously hopefully you have the same hardware as me, i74930mx, alienware 18, ect.

ok it won't let me upload the profile. but ehre is the exact link to download it. just download it to your desktop and then import it to your XTU and see how it works for you.

Win 8.1 produce poorer Xtu scores than both Win7/8 and Xtu bench really like that the core voltage is low. What was your score before and what os did you use? Wprime1024(8treads) stress test and Cinbench 11.5/R15 is a better bench test, as Xtu bench gives different scores after which os you use.

can you post the link to your profile like i did so the rest of us can try it on our systems? i only have one core running at 40 thre rest are at 39. keeps the heat down and when playing games i haven't noticed on difference.this site will not allow you to upload your xtu profile, but you can click on the "compare online" next to your score, click analyze and then post the link to your download for your profile so we can all try it.

Before this i used windows 7. however under windows 10 i tried over and over to get a good score and no matter what i did I scored in the 800's range. so finally i gave up on hte 43x 4 cores ect and went low and it gave me a higher score. That link will download my profile, save it to your desktop and import it to XTU. you coudl prob just double click and it will automatically fire up XTU

jtravapd8578 Low core voltage means a lot in Xtu bench. Higher Overclock the higher core voltage you need. This influence on Xtu scores.

Higher memory speeds mean also higher scores in Xtu bench (a little jump up from 1600 to 1867 memory speed means 60-80 points higher scores in Xtu bench. The same applies also if you use/try different os versions.

papusan if i had your knowledge of stupid XTU and overclocking I think i woul d have a half way decent laptop. lol. I stll wish I could have it running at 41 x4 but can't figure it out. never sure what i need to set the bios settings on and then not sure what XTU needs to keep 41 x 4 running without issues.

There is a problem with this latest XTU Im not able to upload the scores to HWbot and when I save the profile it doesn't really save it anywhere so here are the screenshots:

The first BIOS screenshot is old, set the core limits to 41 on all

long duration power limit = 150
short duration pwer limit = 150
New Frequency in 10 KHz increments = 10029

You can try settings as @Matrix Leader6 use although he use i7-4940mx. Do not forget that all Hotwell chips are very different, so his settings (can) soft brick your laptop. Very variable binned. @jtravapd8578 Remember put Flex ratio override to 32 not 33 in bios, as you have an i7-4930mx. Recommend you start read the guide from Mr Fox carefully and make your own settings after trial and error. http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...ly-have-it-run-full-stock-turbo-speed.734696/
@Matrix Leader6 what happens when you try to save your profile with latest Xtu?

    Edit. @Matrix Leader6 use and read http://hwbot.org/submit/benchmark/xtu/

@jtravapd8578 @Matrix Leader6 Why not just go all the way over to Trottlestop... Stopped completely to use Xtu. Have Xtu disabled.

so what would you recommend? I know alienware advertised this beast as running at 4.3ghz., which i can do while playing games, but any benchmark crashes eventually. I really just wnat to have 41. x 4.

i have no problem saving my profiles. however you can't upload them to this site.

i was having the same problem, with this site, the way around it is when you have your XTU set up the way you like, run the benchmark utility in XTU (not the stress test). when you get yourt results click the score and it will take you to their website , login ect, and click analyze and it will put all your scores , ect, compare it to other computers with your parts ect. on that page their will be several "downolad" buttons. dont download it just copy the url link for it and post htat. it will take me to your page and i can download any profiles from there

i would love to just use throttle stop but i dont i know how to use it yet, and the old posts show how to set up older versions of it. Papusan i did notice the 32 and 33 in the bios, however that is greyed out so i couldn't change it even if i anted it lol.

well that backfired, i used martix's settings and my compuer crashed at boot. now i can't remember what my bios settings were that went along with my workinng XTU profile. there are 4 core settings, two time window settings, long and short, a setting to enable or disable core limits, and a short duration power limit, not to mention bus clock frequesncy in 10khz incriments. if anyone has seen my profile link i posted and can let me knwo what to set my bios back to that would be great.

Dell advertised you only 4.3ghz overclock on 1 core and not all 4. Which is totally meaningless. All cores should be likewise, then almost no software only use 1 core. Dellienware use also crippled power and voltage settings in their useless oc profiles.
Use these settings in the bios. Change only multiplier to either 4x40 or those you used previously(Don't start too high until you know what you're doing). Post a picture of your advanced bios settings you have now. As I said to you earlier; That there is big variation in Hotwell chips. No is equal... It's only trial and error before you have a good Oc result... Not always xtu oc settings fits at all other processors. This applies most often voltage settings. Some risk soft brick with others oc profiles if they do not fit, so I recommend that you create your own. It is not all that manage to repair a soft brick of bios with incorrect oc settings.
