    hello

    i have win8 so when i use a modded driver i have to restart and install and restart again well why dont we just use regedit after the installation ? i did it just for sli on the fly and it worked didnt need to restart just install the original driver then change it in regedit and now sli on the fly works so why modded in the inf files ?

    You can do it either way. If you can implement the tweak in the driver INF while you are already doing an INF mod with two or three mouse clicks, that's faster and easier that editing the registry later on, but both methods ultimately do exactly the same thing. With both methods you are changing a registry value from a 0 to a 1. The modded INF does it automatically during setup, so it requires a little less effort.

    If you use the desktop driver INF for mods, it's not even necessary to do either one because there is nothing in the nv_dispi.inf that needs to be tweaked. No registry entries are created to prompt for a reboot to enable/disable SLI.
