Have you tested combinations outside the application using the Microsoft keyboard ghost test?

That's what I said, he completely ignored my post. I got the Xbox controller for like $20 USD. a steal for enjoying multiple hours of game play for car racing games or football games. Playing a football game using a keyboard is crazy

@encore50 - I really loathe using a controller, too. I'm a keyboard and mouse guy all the way. I have never been a console gamer, so never developed a habit or skill using a controller. There has been neither a need nor a desire for it.

But, there are some games that simply do not function correctly except with a controller. With the increase in crappy console ports getting a half-hearted effort to work on PC, it is a wonder this is not more of a problem than it is.

You have to decide if you want to play the game or not. I usually don't buy games that require a controller (if I know up front) and if I discover it later, then I usually chalk it up as mistake and uninstall the game. A few are worth keeping and learning to adapt for that title. Mortal Kombat is one where I force myself to do it anyway, LOL. Fortunately, most PC games are primarily designed for keyboard and mouse, many with support for those that want to use their gamepad.

The problem there is that the keyboard is afected by Ghosting.... a real pity considering we are talking about gaming laptops.... You cannot fix it.

If you (or your friend) do really need or like to use a keyboard, you may also consider the purchase of a fully mechanical keyboard or one that is certified for no ghosting.

You can't fix it per say because the keyboard on the Alienware 18 suffers from keyboard ghosting. Really crap in my opinion for such an expensive gaming notebook.

The way I have gotten around this and fixed the issue is to change the direction keys to be located and used on the numpad instead. So I now use 4,8,5 and 6 to control the movement in FIFA 15. This works great for me as an alternative controller setting option. There is no ghosting and I can use full key combinations simultaneously again.

    Cheers. :)
