Was in wiindows , started a game and then system locked with a yellow screen , done a hard reset to re start , the system starts all led etc but no screen display or beeps , removed the cmos batt , got the 5 beeps and then second restart no beeps but still no screen display , i removed hd tried again still the same no screen or beeps , so i assumed the monitor was gone so i stripped down my R1 and fitted the screen to the r2 to test but still the same no beeps or display getting stressed and running out of ideas , anyone have a clue whats occuring here , thanks

What is your R2 configuration? Anyway remove both GPUs and try to turn on system. Display issue mostly related to graphics card.

Thanks for your reply , I had considered that but normally if a display problem you get the 8 beeps I had nothing , anyway took the machine apart removed the primary card and then it would display I assume using the hd4000 , I then placed the card back into the primary slot and then again no display , but the weird thing was the card was being detected by the bios even though the card wasn't able to display hence why no beeps the system assumed all was ok , anyway I decided to swap cards so at least I could hopefully boot with an ati card , when I put in the secondary card in the primary slot the display was ok , so I assume the other was dead , I placed the other card in the secondary slot put it all back together and this is the really weird thing both cards are working ??? just ran 3dmark 11 and scored around 13k do definitely running of both cards , really have no idea as to why the card is working when the system couldn't boot with it ....very weird ...anyway will see what happens .

Maybe your bridge cable had a bad connection, or having intermittent failure of the cable. That can really goof things up and it has happened to me a couple of times. The CrossFire cables can work loose and the SLI cable can come unsnapped. When that happens drivers goof up real bad, sometimes hard freeze or BSOD, and cards are not detected the right way in Device Manager. The screen can change to odd colors or just go black. Looks like it's under control again, so that's good.

Hey Brother Fox , just a quickie , I ran my system with the 7970m and scored 13197 on 3Dmark11 not too bad for the old girl , I think there is more scope but hot where I live so didn't want to melt anything , anyway my biggest problem here is getting parts as the import tax is nearly 100% otherwise would of put those 7970m out of the R2 and put them in my R1 as that's also has two dead 6990m lol, I would go out and get some Gtx780m as really every time I turn on the system I am waiting for the next issue , AMD have really gone down the pan for reliability ,so if you know any Dell Reps i can get cards through here in the Philippines would be a great relieve , and make turning on my system a pleasure again and not a worry hahaha , anyway all the best ...
