Check the YouTube video. They commented. Also, other company representatives on this forum said it's coming back.

A petition won't hurt, though. :) Go for it.

Actually it's a limited time thing, hopefully they can support one more generation but we'll see.

    http://en.community.dell.com/dell-b...08/19/alienware-18-returns-stronger-than-ever

" the Alienware 18, one of the most powerful gaming notebooks ever created, is back for a limited time with its title intact."

"This limited edition Alienware 18 will come packed with the option for either dual NVIDIA 970M GPU’s or dual NVIDIA 980M GPU’s. This is a big reason why we are reintroducing the Alienware 18. "

"The Alienware 18 has always been a defining product for Alienware and we’re stoked to bring back this limited edition model. A brilliant 18” display, overclocked and upgradeable socketed CPU, dual graphics, up to 32GBs of RAMM, up to 4 hard drives – all packed into one of the most iconic notebook designs on the market – it’s a thing of beauty."

Still find it funny that the site says unlocked K processors even though it's going to be the same 4710MQ, 4910MQ and 4940MX CPUs.

Yeah, they got a little excited and jumped the gun a bit. Probably kept old wording from before or copy pasted when they shouldn't have. Although it causes angst, still exciting they brought it back.

Now what's more interesting is what happens with the 18 post skylake.

I really hope they release a bios update to my 18 that adds support for the 9xx series gpus. Amongst other things that should have been there on launch.
