just to add to ur list, i believe the best/ideal cpu heatsink is the 3-pipe one unless someone out there has made a custom solution. 32gb of ram is the max this machine can take as previous forum members have mentioned so 8gb sticks is the max, same with the speed of the ram. what i havent found out tho is whether the higher clocked ram is exclusive to the XM cpu or whether the QM cpu's can also do this (i personally never have messed with ram speed before, mine runs at 1600mhz with my 3740qm)

Not sure if the RTX 3000 is better than the P5000... on paper the P5000 seems stronger, but i don't know how much impact the RT cores have?
I've found an old benchmark that i did :)

very nice, im pretty happy with my quadro p4000 personally. Just depends what you want to get out of the system, the p4000/p5000 balance quite well with the cpu. Id imagine that the RTX 3000 or above would experience bottlenecking to some degree, ray tracing is desired by some but personally i couldnt care less for it

CPU: Either 3920XM or 3940XM. I got mine to 4.7Ghz (4.3Ghz 24/7). There are others here who got it to 4.8Ghz, I can benchmark 4.8Ghz but not fully stable.

RAM Speed: 2400Mhz. 2133Mhz 4GB modules can be OC to 2400Mhz.

GPU max power I believe is even higher than that if you have 2x 330w adapters. @Baddemichl knows

he is also the one who had P5200 AND RTX 5000 working in his M18xR2. So technically RTX 5000 is the fastest card but requires a huge amount to work in M18xR2.

P5000 and RTX 3000 are the easiest and provide best performance.

p4000 is cheapest way to get more power than stock.

As for SSd, I have 980 PRO running as my boot drive in GPU slave slot using MXM NVMe adapter

    Wi-Fi : I have Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.2 Mini PCIe card

Try running port royal benchmark. https://www.3dmark.com/pr/1236582

In Ray tracing RTX 3000 destroys 1070 even 1080Ti desktop.

DLSS also is super useful where a 1080 would struggle thanks to DLSS I can run games not possible before at 1080p ultra settings.

In pure raw performance this is what RTX 3000 @ 80w TDP gets:

    https://www.3dmark.com/spy/23195932

if someone can increase TDP to 110w it would be much faster. I noticed in benchmarks the clock speed is lower but in games much higher so there's also that.

Next is to see A4500 which will be RTX 3070 mobile performance in MXM format.

So many beautiful tips, But where can I buy MXM / NVME adapter and the RTX 3000?
