my m18x won't play full screen flash videos any faster than 30fps at 480 and stutters constantly at 720 and 1080. double digits at 720 single at 1080.

also won't let me play any of the 1080p blu-ray rips i have. (mostly subbed anime that isn't out here)

any reason why that would be?

.mkv is just the video format.

You need proper codecs, as the standard codecs might not be able to play high def videos efficiently.

Try these: Download K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 7.70 - FileHippo.com

As for the youtube thing, try updating your Flash browser plug-in

Yea, the latest 2 beta Nvidia drivers have this issue its in the release notes for them. Update to the new official flash player 11 released Oct. 4th and should be fixed.

May I just add a comment of my observations over the past 10 years of codec packs:

Maybe just AC3, Xvid or Divx codec unless you want to rip with old school products in the like of Gordian Knots etc.

Just use VLC portable it has all required codecs inbuilt without installing codecs.

I have found these days too many codecs can create unforseen and untraceable issues with system stability, and again these days a lot of them are not needed.

Sorry FlipFire I wasn't trying to step on any toes, just wanted to give my 2 cents worth.

    :)

:) thats fine, everyones got their own preference to codecs packs. I just like K-Lite cause of the wide range of supported formats. I havent had any adverse effects from using K-Lite so far.

Ive used VLC and CCCP codecs in the past just fine aswell.

Media Player Classic - Home Cinema plays just about everything on it's own, no other codec packs needed.

VLC / K-lite / CCCP were great for when this wasn't the case. They still work well and some people find them easier/better for their particular setup, so you just have to find what works best for you. Installing and registering too many codecs can really mess up a system though.

720-1080p streaming flash is pretty slow unless you have a really good Broadband or T1 connection. Even then, there is stuff that affects the speed.
You could always try clearing the flash cache and saved internet files. You could also try the 64-bit Flash Player 11 as mentioned, might give an improvement depending how well it's implemented.
