I was just going through my old HDD on my M18x R2 and came across this pic from when I was a slightly an Alienware fanboy. I was proud to say it back then. How times have changed.
    Pictured below is my M18x R2, M17x R3, M15x, M14x R2 and M11x R3. I still have the M18x and M17x. I wish that I never sold my M11x.

That's a great collection! I love the old Nebula Red. I had a mint condition red M18x R2 but sold it a few month ago. Sellers remorse but I needed the $1100AU.
    Since my first purchase of my M17x R3 I've owned, an M11x R2, 2 x M11x R3, M14x R2, M15x, M17x R2, 2 x M18x R2, AW13, AW13 R2, AW14 and now waiting for a broken AW17 to arrive. Plus an X51 and a bunch of old Aurora R2-R4 desktops.
I hate the grey/silver color they went with. Incredibly dull imo. At least the old M15x/M17x silver had some pop to it. I'm glad the new products have some color again.

Me too have built up a little collection in the meantime, not soo spectacular, but gladly all fully functional, m17x r3, 3x m17x r4 and m18x and my tiny e6420. Also had an aw17 r1 and a x51 r1 but sold em.

Looks like I am getting a Alienware X51 R2 to play with. Has i7 4790K 16GB RAM & GTX 960. First mod will be to throw in a GTX 980 LOL

I'm typing using my X51 R1 right now. I think they are underrated machines. I know they don't overclock well because of the cooling but for such a small form factor they are fantastic. Mine has the 3770 and I put a GTX 1060 3GB in a little while back.

I got mine a few years ago from an online auction website. It was dirt cheap because it wasn't working but once I opened her up I saw that some idiot had tried to jam the GPU in and cut a few cables in the process. Cost me about $30 to get it working again. Of course I had to give her a new matte white paint job because for some reason I can't leave my PC's stock color.

It's an RGB 'Alienware' mousepad. It's from a third party and in no way licenced to carry the Alienware logo. I got it from eBay. It wasn't cheap at about $70AU but it's pretty solid and lights up nicely in the dark.

    I found an old picture I took of my M17x R4, M14x R2 & M11x R1. Definitely the best Alienware models. :D

I have been meaning to make an Alienware Legacy video with my models M17x R1, M17x R2, M18x R1, M18x R2, and my deceased Alienware 18 (where Alienware started getting things wrong). I love my machines and will likely never get rid of them, but I won’t be buying any more Alienware either. I was only trying to get 680M SLI working in M17x R1 before I made the video but I think only single 680M will work

Do you guys possibly know if there's a thread here around how to get the best out of RAM in the M17X R4?

I woukd like to know what the M17X R4 is capable of in terms of ocing the RAM.

DDR3-2133 is as good as you can get, though it’s insanely expensive these days.

So that would mean put the sticks in, switch to XMP Profile and hope for the best? I am pretty unfamiliar with Typhoon Burner though....

No need to mess with XMP or Thaiphoon, there are Kingston, G.Skill, and Corsair sticks that are already 2133 sticks that are plug in play

Yes, no need to mess with things like that. Just the 2133 sticks and that's it.
(Although, sticking them in and POSTing sometimes may be a bit finicky).

Personally I have Kingston HyperX 2133 sticks in my M18x R2 they run no problem at the advertised speed.

Me also have 2133 in the m17x r4, running without any problems.

Just the installation process was a little bit hard to figure out this time, at least for me.

I was used to removing the old modules, putting in new modules, power on and go.

This time it didn't work, just gave me the RAM error beeps. I then removed all modules, and powered on without any RAM installed, let it do the normal process of beeping because of the missing RAM, then I powered down manually, after that inserted the new 2133 sticks and voila, passed POST.
