    Hello all

First I would like to say how helpfull this forum has been to me up untill now, thanks to this forum i was able to make the amazing choice of purchasing the m18x..

Well , so far my m18x was able to run all games like butter other than the witcher 2.. I set all details on ultras other than virtual sync , and still 1) the games sometimes run slow 2) graphics seem somewhat odd...
im not sure if i already updateds the patch it has for 1.1 or not but it still odd...
also i ran a benchmark test (without a CD inside the laptop) and i had a wierd result of 2659 ?
    my specs are i8 2820qm 16gb 1600mhz ram , 6970 crossfire.
i also downloaded the new ATI drivers the 11.6 , not sure if i installed it currectly but windows does seem to show it...

also , i downloaded and ran one of the programs someone published here which gives u benchmark results and also shows the components u have inside the laptop, is it normal that is says one graphic card is 3d and the other it shows as 2d ?

any help to calm me down that my beast is working well and i simply dont have any knowledge in such stuff would be greatfull :)

    thanks in advance

wow, that's pretty cool, i should say. for me the perfect gamepley is considered if fps doesn't get lower that 30+ Could you also share the results with everything on ultra, but no unersampling and ultra +ubersampling :D About to order M18x

Slightly OT but still regarding Witcher 2 (as I just bought it the other day...).....do you need to do patch 1.1 first or can you just go straight for 1.2 ???

I max out all settings on witcher 2 except uber sampling and they game never lags.

I have nothing OC'd but from what I read its only uber sampling that brings machines to their knee's and developers only put that in for future computers.

Here is the thing , on the first scene in the game , when the witcher sits chains up with hsi hands behind his back and enters the guy through the door, I see 2 bright large circles at each sides of the screen , does this mean i might need to download / missing the 1.1 patch ? or 1.2 ?

I havent installed the game itself yet but I would suggest patching with the latest patch available regardless. If your unsure, you can always do 1.1 and then 1.2 but to get best game performance, I would certainly say you should use the latest patch released.

I have just about had it with RadeonPro. I can't get the Crossfire bars to appear in this game either. I want to see how much my cards are being used.

Does anyone know of another program to monitor GPU usage in-game?

I run two instances of GPU-Z in the background. This method won't let you check the usage in-game but you can alt-tab and see the usage graphs for GPU, RAM and temps.

Something I've noticed is occasionally when switching from the IGPU, the 6970M's will not go beyond 400mhz on load. Needs a second reset before it behaves itself.

Playing the Witcher 2 now with patch 1.3 and it's smooth like butter.

Measuring with FRAPS: Walking around Flotsam, it's around 50-55fps. Standing still is around 68. Quickly spinning around on the spot it's around 45-50.

This is with AMD Catalyst 11.6 and CAP3.

    Attached are my video settings.

If you have the profile only option set and no witcher2 profile they won't turn on.

Under General Settings (Settings button in radeonpro to the right of the delete profile button) -> Crossfire. Enable CrossfireX Bar. Also setup a hot key to turn it on/off.

For GPU monitoring I keep GPU-Shark running in the background, uses practically no resources and gives me all the info I need.
