I brought in my hardware-encrypted (ATA Password) Crucial 550 to Alienware 18, but I am not able to unlock it.

Is there some BIOS option I am missing or someone tell me this $5K monster does not do what every laptop in existence since a decade does.

    Thanks,

    J

    This is not normal.

It is neither possible to prompt it to pass the password set by hdparm to drive firmware, nor it is possible to let it set one itself.

Who makes this s*h*i*t? Really.
