If you order them let me know.

I'd be interested in 2 but without actually seeing how they fit/perform it's a pretty big gamble ordering 2 lol. I wonder if they'd have the same throttle issue as 980M.

Same here, I would think, at least for the Alienware 18 (2013), there would be a power draw issue, no?

Maybe for the AW18 but the M18xR2 can utilize dual 330w PSUs.

Mild OC CPU + stock 980 SLI (130W MSI Models) should be fine on a single 330w though.

MSI GT80s with 2x980's used to drain battery with single 330w psu at full power.

Hmmm I just realized it might not work. If the 980s are G-SYNC cards then we can only use 1 in Optimus mode and not 2 in PEG SLI.

These AW laptops didn't have the MSI battery boost crap and fully utilize the 330w ac adapter until it shuts off into safety. If needed it's able to use 2x330w ac adapters for more power.

In most games running stock at 1080p 60fps, I don't think it would need more than 1 PSU.

Those cards are definitely not gsync. They're from MSI GT80s 6qf which use same panel Samsung PLS as Alienware 18.

Ah that's right. I believe the 980 SLI set-up was the last to support the MUX switching in the GT80S as well.

These 680M SLI cards are starting to show their age, I need to upgrade to something better soon. :D
