So I bought an Intel 7260 card to replace the Killer unit that came with my 18x R2, because I'm getting the dreaded "limited or no connectivity" plague with Windows 8.1 that I've heard about. But when I opened up the machine the Killer card takes 3 antenna connectors but the Intel card only has 2 connectors... which ones do I hook up? Do I need a card with 3 connectors?

You'll be fine.. The Killer card has 3 antenna while Intel only has 2.. It won't affect anything.. It just means that the Intel card might not have that much range etc.. I don't know how to explain it but you'll be fine...

Right but which 2 antennas do I hook up and which do I leave unhooked?

I replaced with an atheros AR9280, which works fine and was relatively cheap (7$)

I have no idea how to fix the limited/no connectivity problems with the AR9380/Killer 1103 card, it plagued me in Windows 7 too, no matter which driver I used.

It's only fixed by the drivers. So Killer shot themselves and their customers in the foot.

If you look closer at Intel network card you can see marks filled with colors. It's white mark and black mark for white cable and black cable ;)
