    Replacing Hard drive/SATA connector on my M18x R2 can I use a connector from a different model?

    Basically, I need to replace the sata connector (Honestly I don't know what you'd call it so here's a picture http://i.imgur.com/Ei6E9Vb.jpg ) I've found people selling the piece online for at minimum $50 but I've also found the same connector from an m18x R1 for a cheaper price, so would that connector work even though my model is different or would It not work for my laptop? Yes, I know the connector from the R1 has only two ports but thats not an issue for me.

    We do not officially recommend you to use that cable from the previous gen. However, they are overall very similar. Let's wait and see if another user has done this in the past.
