    Hi!

I realized I could nott use my external speakers anymore with my AW18. I tired using optical cable to connect them to my laptop but there was no sound. It appears that I have to use digital output as a playback source to be able to use my external speakers but there is no such device listed for me. I think it might have been there before but it disappeared some time ago. I'm using W10.

How do I get it back? I tried reinstalling realtek drivers, installing old audio drivers, new audio drivers. Didn't work. How can I make my external speakers work again? Thanks for your advice!

I also ran that quick audio test as part of diagnostics tests which you can run at start up. The beeps couldn't be heard with Realtek HD audio driver installed. When I installed a microsoft HD audio driver instead of it I could hear the beeps. So it appears the issue is driver related.
