Hi Brothers , had to do a reformat and i copied Mr Fox recomendation to run the migration within windows , the raid 0 is set up, i then ran extend volume in disk management and RST states all is normal , but i am missing the performance tab which was there before , the disk drivers loaded according to device manager are disk.sys , partmgr.sys and stdcftn.sys , is this correct.? any advice is always appreciated .as long as it doesnt mean i need to do it all again hahaha.cheers.

It sounds like everything is working correctly. Sometimes the Performance section disappears. Several folks have reported seen that disappear before, but I haven't seen that happen recently. What version of RST are you using? What is your drive configuration (how many, what kinds, etc.)?

Yeah, it does take many many hours on HDD. Wow, that is a really old version. Try using at least an 11 or 12 version. Try the latest from the Intel Download Center. That could fix your problem. You should be able to install over the top of the older version.

Ok Thanks ...did go there but only found drivers for floppy if you are using the F6 option , and also ran the intel update utility but no luck ...will try again ......thanks again for your replies , there is one thing I noticed , when I installed windows it made a small partition on the drive of 100mb , but the drives showed before that they were bootable on the boot screen but now they show they are not , so I assume windows put the boot files on the partition is that a problem ? , and if so can I change that so the RAID 0 is the bootable drive ...and if so how ? ...thanks again and Ferris your Dubai I was out in Bahrain for 5 years but know the Philippines battling tornados hahahaha

    1) you downloaded the F6 Floppy install version of IRST. You need to download the full version

    2) The 100MB is a system reservered partition to put a backup of your boot files incase your machine's boot files were corrupted, then at startup, choosing STARTUP REPAIR will use that hidden partition to restore your boot files.

    3) When installing an OS, always ensure you only have the drive where Windows will be installed and no other drive otherwise Windows has a nasty habit of putting the boot files on the 2nd drive which will slow your boot time and cause headaches when trying to backup/restore via a system imaging software such as Macrium Reflect. In your case, since you are doing RAID, then you only need to have your RAID drives in the system when installing and no other drive

    4) The best stripe size for HDDs is 128K and for SSDs is 64K, you mentioned you had 128K, I assume you have HDDs not SSDs

    5) I suggest you format your system as it's already messed up, setup the RAID array in the BIOS before even installing Windows, then install the drivers and the latest IRST Driver:

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24293&lang=eng&ProdId=2101

it's the third file you need not the first 2 F6

When I installed Windows I deleted all partitions , at the boot screen I ran ctrl I and disabled the raid so I had two separate drives , when I installed windows both drives showed one on port 0 and the other on port 1 there was no other partition , so I installed to port 0 , windows then installed the 100mb partition which could not be deselected , I then installed all the necessary drivers , I then ran RST and set up raid 0 and then it migrated and showed 1,4tb raid 0 in RST , but windows still only showed the one drive , I then went into disk management and used the extend volume option and then windows showed the full size ,and in RST shows as raid 0 128kb stripe etc , the only difference is the performance tab is missing and the fact that windows doesn't show the drives as bootable , so can I change that without reinstalling windows as I am too far in now to do that ..cheers
