Long Time ago I bought here an Alienware 18 with a burned Mosfet over the MXM 1 Slot. Now I found someone who soldered a new Mosfet on the mobo. I put it togehter But there comes a Black Screen. Backlight is on but No picture. There is an I7-4710mq and a GTX 770m 3Gb. I am not sure if this 770m works. When I turn on the Alienware, the Backlight and the Keyboard lights goes on. After 1 minute and 30 seconds the mobo Beeps 1x, after 30seconds the next 1x beep and after another 30 seconds the last 1x beep. Thats it.
Anyone an idea what is wrong?

Have you tried removing the GPU and booting to see if it posts with the iGPU. If so then you will know for sure if your 770m is dead.

Glad to hear. At least you know it’s the card and not anything else.

Now I found an Old 7970m from a Clevo p370em in my Desk. I thought the card is dead. Because it didn‘t work with a P150EM. But now it Works with my Alienware. Because there is a Dell Bios on the card. ??? And is my 100w Nvidia heatsink fine?

880M's do not come recommended by any user of the forums, they're essentially 780M's overclocked to instability, do yourself a favor and get a 980M/1060/WX7100/1070

I have another question. Now I am testing a Clevo GTX 485m. But Device Manager says: Code 31. Windows can‘t load the driver. The driver which wants to start is Not the same driver for the GPU???
When I want to install Nvidia driver, Nvidia says no compatible Hardware. But I can change the VBios to Clevo, Dell and Original Nvidia. Any Ideas?

Neither card was "officially" sold with the AW 18 so you will need to modify the inf file in order for the driver to install.

    https://premamod.wordpress.com/2017/08/15/j95-nvidia-inf/

Look under GEFORCE 417.71 and download the windows 10 driver and the NV_DISP.INF for PEG AW systems

Hi, so the 680m works fine. But the Clevo 580m has some problems. And I don´t know which one. The GPU Clock stays at 73MHz al the time at load. And in Idle 50MHz. I tried several VBios Versions but nothing changed. I have the latest 580m Driver(391.35).
    Can Anyone help me?

    Update:

The Solution is to switch to the PEG Mode. Now it works Perfect. Now I tried to flash to 675m. But it always says GPU Board Mismatch. What about that?

    You're trying to flash a 580M to 675M?

Don't bother, they're identical cards that were rebranded.

Enjoy the card working as is

The two top MOSFETS in the upper left of the mother board are known to fail, but not sure if that is related to your issue.

you will need load with IGPU mode. To do it disassemble laptop remove GPU leave only CPU inside, remove memory modules as well. Start your machine after second (beep) insert 1 module of Mem. Hold power off bottom. start again your machine.
You probably have unlock bios on your alienware with wrong setting you will get Black screen and 7 Beep.
