    Hi all,

I have just purchased the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game and installed it. Upon launching I immediately received a fatal error crash which advised that I need to update my graphics driver.

I recently upgraded to the GTX 980m so I could play the latest games. Fortnite, Hearthstone, Apex Legends all work absolutely fine. I have checked GeForce Experience and that says my driver is up to date which is version 388.13.

Have I wasted my money on this game or there a fix for this?

    Thanks for your help.

    MUSTANG

Better leave that Geforce Experience where it is, and manually update to a modded recent driver. Only install the driver (and Physx).

This guide here should help you:
    https://null-src.com/posts/nvidia-notebook-driver-inf-mod/post.php

If you need me to make you a driver I can whip one up after work tonight. I will just need your Display Adapter Hardware ID
Go to Device Manager - Display Adapters - Right click on the 880M - Properties - Details - Select Hardware ID from the dropdown box

There will be 4 lines of code. I need the first or second line.

I'll just post a dropbox link on here for you. I'm at work though and I'm not sure if I can download the driver due to permissions they put on the computers here. I don't get home for about 11 hours....

I'll see if I can sort it out

I've never modded a new driver for the older cards that aren't technically supported anymore. I have no way of testing it at the moment so I can only assume you mod it in the same way as an older driver.

I'm using the latest version of the 425 driver , and no matter how much I tried to modify it, my Alienware 18 doesn 't want to work in A hd4600/880M bundle ..

What's weird is that Nvidia support the 860M with the 445.75 driver but not the 880M.

    Hi Mustang,

I've put together a new system bios for the M18x R2 that allows you to install the latest Nvidia drivers without modification (assuming you have the non-gsync verison of the 980m).
