When I set up my TV as a second screen the mouse cursor won't switch between screens without a very fast swipe of the mouse.........it just hangs against the side of whatever screen it's on.

It's really annoying, is there a setting somewhere that will allow me to change this??

What mouse are you using? If it has proprietary software, you might look for some kind of "feature" that needs to be disabled.

That's why I asked about proprietary software. That does not sound like something the GPU would influence. It sounds more like messed up mouse or touchpad settings. It might also be some kind of a nifty screwed up special feature provided at no extra charge in Windows 8, which may be why Meaker asked about the OS.

Might also have something to do with orientation of the displays and which one you have selected as primary. If you're running Win 8, perhaps the charming "charms" menu  could be affecting your cursor's ability to move from one display to the other (eg. if you have the TV set as primary with the laptop extended to the right, the charms menu could be getting it's knickers in a twist over something). I'd maybe have a mess about with swapping primary/secondary displays and maybe playing about with which display is left or right.

I think is something along the lines of what Stevie mentioned regarding orientation. Are they at different resolutions?

Mouse is a standard MS USB mouse, OS is Win7 Ultimate. Both are oriented as Landscape, primary is the laptop display, secondary is the TV, set to native (1366 X 768). Didn't have this issue with the same mouse and my old M18 with the 7970's, don't have the issue with my M17 and the 680 (or when it had the 6990m for that matter)

Checked in the mouse settings, also checked touchpad settings since it's the same issue with both mouse and touchpad.

Really strange issue and not one I've ever seen before.

Try setting the laptop display to the same resolution as the TV and see if the problem is still present. I once tried to use a computer with an unmatched pair of monitors with differing resolution and the mouse would sometimes hang moving between screens unless the cursor was moved across in the center of the screen area. If the cursor was too high or low it would act as though it was getting caught

    Hey Mr. Fox,

I've tried that as well, no difference. The weird thing is that it does it no matter the resolution of either screen.
