I will be most likely purchasing a new Alienware 18 before the new year...that being said the 980m has been out for a year...when/what is the next line Nvidia is releasing? Might wait to upgrade if it will be soon.

You'll be lucky if AW is still producing the 18. The model had no 980m support when the 980m was first released then it was discontinued. The AW18 was only recently brought back with 980m support along with the release of a new system bios. So, don't be surprised if a new mobile GPU is released and AW does not offer it.

I suppose 18 inch line will be either discontinued or turned into some light&slim crap that we saw before.

As for the Pascal GPUs im very curious if they would work in Legacy BIOS mode. I also want to know what will be the numering scheme as they run out of numbers with 900 series ;)

Huh? I'm confused. Didn't they just bring back the 18 line? Why all of a sudden is everyone saying they are going to get rid of it again?

its basically just a zombie refresh, theyre selling off old stock of the aw18 by slapping a modified bios and 980Ms into it. there were rumours of a true refresh next year though...

Or....skip Alienware altogether and go look at a Clevo P870DM. Far better than anything Alienware currently offers, including the Alienware 18

And, shame on anyone that is not. I fully expect that the Eurocom Sky X9 is going to be the new machine the rest of the industry will have no answer for and leave everyone speechless.

What's that? Titan tastes like chicken?
