Thank you brother Dre and brother Fox. I love my aw18 and its amazing for a notebook but boy oh boy the power you can get out of a desktop...
It is really a lot of fun and very fulfilling to build a desktop and see it all come together.
Oh and gsync... OMGAWD!!!!!! This new ROG 1440p swift monitor is unbelievable....

I'm about to jump on Amazon and order a bunch of PC parts. You've inspired me to move to desktop gaming. (Won't be spending as much as you did, but gonna enjoy the performance nonetheless.)
Still love the build you have. How's it treating you so far? Do you have any maintenance tips for a water build - anything you would have done to speed things along, etc.?pathfindercod likes this. -

Awesome! The machine is sick! Crazy fast in every aspect. I am itching for another build, enjoyment of building. So I am either selling this one as a whole or will be parting it out.
It's still running like the day I built it. As far as tips are concerned spend a little extra on decent fluid such as Mayhems nano fluid or the me ekwb nano fluid. Buy the concentrate and run to Walmart and get a gallon of distilled water for .98cent..
Mayhem says their nany fluid is good for three years give or take on usage. I plan to drain and refill every 8-10 months anyway just to be safe.
I learned on this build do not speculate on fittings and tubing based on pictures of your case on te internet. Case pictures are deceiving. Get your core components and case first. Go ahead and build and run on air to stress the components for reliability. Then start doing measurements and figure out resivoir size, pump top/pump and then this will give yiu a more visual on fittings needed. I ended up with way WAY to many extra fittings. I am about to put up for sale thread here with lots of stuff.
Depending on the rads you choose will determine how much pre-cleaning you'll need to do. Alpha cool althought good rads are one of the worst rads from the factory for dirtiness. I used ekwb rads and they cleaned up quickly. I used viniger and boilibg hot water to flush them out. The ran hot tap water through alternating the two ports for about 15 minutes. The hot water and viniger I let sit in the rad for 30-45 minutes before flushing. Ultimately you want no debri comibg out of the rad when you fill and empty in a bowl.
Most "experts" say leak test for 2-4 hours. Mine blew out after a little over two hours. Of course you don't have power to the components during leak testing. Just the pump and jumper off the PSU. I will leak test everyone I build. Minimum of about 24 hours, it simply won't hurt to be extra cautious.
If you want to run anything by me or have any questions feel free to ask.
Also if you want a Asus tamoage IV black and 4960x motherboard with full motherboard block and three Evga 780ti kingpins with all ekwb blocks let me know. Still have the boxes and original heatsink/fans for gpu's and box and all for mothetboard/cpu.J.Dre likes this.
