    Hi community!

As object said, if i choose a color near blue in the alien FX ring of colors (for example white or purple but not exactly green) i can see blue light and only this light!
Maybe because it's one of the three colors of RGB and through them you can create all colours? I mean, others are broken?
I have 2x780m and they are very hot. And the LEDs are in above with the maximum heat dissipation.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall the AlienFX.

Should i change the entire sector multimedia keys?

    Thanks to all.

You've probably go a broken wire or a bad connection somewhere in the LED lighting circuit. I had a similar problem a while back and found a broken wire. I replace the cable with a new one and all the colors worked fine afterward. The most common place for them to go is where the wires go into the plastic connectors on the ends. They are very fine and easily broken or shorted if they get pulled, pinched or flexed too much.

Ah, understood. So you think that i should only change the cable, not all multimedia buttons?
It's another point of view! Thanks!

It coulc be the cable or one of the color LED's. The cable is easier to change and faster as well.

Is a normal cable? Easy to find?

There is more than one cable involved. A short or tear in one cable could cause LEDs to not work correctly in totally different area due to an open circuit. There is one cable to the screen logo, another one to the indicator lights on the upper left corner, one to the media buttons, another that goes to the touchpad, a ribbon cable for the media panel, a ribbon cable for each keyboard, a cable for the power button/LED board and one that goes between the front grille lights. As Brother @Alienware-L_Porras mentioned, it could also be an LED board, and there is one for each of the lighted areas.

Maybe the best way to start is by taking things apart and looking to see if you can find any torn or pinched wires, and look where the wires go into the plastic connectors on each of the ends that attach the the motherboard or LED board. Examine them with a magnifying glass under bright light because they are very thin wires and difficult to see if they are cracked or torn loose on the ends.

The cables are inexpensive, so if all are still available you could buy one of each from Dell Spare Parts.

sorry if up again the thread, but I am going to disassemble the laptop and now i can see only a very light blue and only that color.
I'll watch the cable as suggested but, if the problem is not that, what is the name or code of the components to be changed?
I do not live in the United States, and so I have no chance to check the Dell Spare Parts. I look for in europe.

    Thanks
