    M18x r1 upgrade

    I would like to apologize in advance Iam new to this.
    I have a friend in China that will send me 2 780m cards and 2960xm CPU for a good price.
    My specs are 2820 CPU 2-460m GPU cards 32 gb ram 2 ocz vertec4 512gb and it all works.
    I do clean installs some regedits thanks to this site I have no problem taking this baby apart
    and putting it back I have a manual.
    What I need is a -- Mr. Fox -- or someone to help me with details like model # of CPU GPU
    heat sink sli cable and so on. The right GPU drivers and Bios and anything I did not cover.
    I do LIKE my M18x I would like new one but you all know that not going to happen.

    There's a thread with M18xR1 parts numbers, just use search.

    GPU drivers - you can download modified ones to work with your new cards from TechInferno
    BIOS - Unlocked is recommended

    Thanks I have searched along time. I will keep searching. I was hoping someone could give me links I could go to. Do I use a unlocked A05 BIOS or ? and where do I get it.

    So....right now you have:

    2820QM, 460M SLI

    and you will upgrade to:

    2960XM, 780M SLI

    right? Everything will be plug n play except the drivers.

    I recommend using A05 unlocked. It can be found on the TechInferno forums along with modified drivers.

    I also recommend grabbing the triple pipe heatsink as it will help cool the 2960XM better and allow you to overclock higher.

    So the SLI cable and X bracket will work with the 780m. Do you think Dell will still have the heatsinks I need for the GPU & CPU.

    I think there's a possibility that the current GPU heatsink will fit. For CPU heatsink you can try dell otherwise there's eBay

    ssj92 thanks for info TechInferno forums and was unable to download BIOS I would happy to pay for or donate but I could not find where to do this. I ordered the GPUs and CPU
    I be able to do the teardown and install
    I still need more info on BIOS settings and driver version and anything more
