    Hey guys,

So just today I finally got around to replacing my 7970M cards in my system with 2 new ones. Everything is installed and detected in Device Manager. I uninstalled and cleaned out the drivers with DDU and downloaded the latest ones from AMD. It says in AMD Settings that Crossfire is on, however GPU-Z tells me it is disabled (Crossfire Available).

Also while I am on AMD Graphics I am getting some sort of problem. It is as if someone is clicking off my open screen constantly and I cannot type nor open the start menu. Only way I can describe it is that imagine you have an internet browser open, and you are typng, then someone clicks to your desktop and you no longer can type until you click back into your window. it is doing this constantly. My mouse icon always has the little spinning "thinking" icon. When I switch to Intel Graphics, the issue goes away.

Has anyone seen this issue? What could be the problem? CrossfireX Cable or a bad card?

Just an update, I went to AMD settings and disabled crossfire and the issue went away. However the cards still will not work in crossfire. If I re-enable crossfire gpuz just says disabled and if I reboot the computer with crossfire enabled in AMD settings the issue returns again.

I had problem with crossfire cable once and AMD settings told me that there's a problem with the cable.

Thanks for the reply. Where would I go in AMD settings to check the cable status?

If I remember correctly it told me under Crossfire settings but that was long ago and my both cards died. I was using not crimson drivers.

AMD drivers are known for serious bugs so better try other version if you didn't already.

Turns out it was the crossfire cable. That second card is a real tight fit to get it connected properly.

But the AMD settings didn't show anything in there that I saw.

    Thanks for the help.

There could be a physical problem with cable pins so it didn't showed it.
