I have two 6990m's in crossfire and all at once I lost video. When I would start the computer I got no beep code, just a blank screen. Fans would kick on and keyboard would light up but the computer would not do anything. I pulled the computer apart and pulled the video cards. After doing so I have been able to use the computer on internal graphics just fine.
I tried swapping the graphics cards around, using one at a time and each time when a card is installed it goes to blank screen, no beep code. I tried repasting and had no luck. Does this sound like both cards went bad or could it be the motherboard itself? Computer runs fine without them installed....

6990М are known to die without any cause just because they want to die. We all had them and they all died.

I had three (3) 7970m's die on me during the past 3 years which I am very thankful for, given the known lifespan of these cards
No wonder we have crappy Nvidia drivers nowadays when there is absolutely no competition in the mobile market... -
Considering dual GPU options are extremely expensive right now I may consider just upgrading to a single GPU solution and then add a second card in the future. What card would be my best upgrade to go to at this time? I been out of the loop for a few years lol.

I don't know if 780M is available anymore. It was not available year ago when I was trying to buy it. Only option I had was 880M as 980M does not work in M18xR1.
