Hello all I have a m18x r1 and i have been trying to get to work after the whole windows 10 update thing OVER 3 mo ago... and have a few problems. I have changed the LCD screen to a brand new unit. It worked well sort of... now i i see the cursor and I see the Intel Storage screen and i can enter that by pressing (CTRL - I) but after that I'm suppose to see the alienware logo with the loading bar but i don't, the screen says on but it's blank and it 8 beeps. So i pulled all my gpu's out still 8 beeps, bought a refurbished motherboard still no change. I have even done a blind BIOS update, thru the e-sata port and i have conneted it to an external monitor no change, Its like i'm missing something in order for it to POST. I have 4 gpu's to try all with the same result 2 780m, 1 7970m, and stock 560m. Can anyone help or point out a few more things to try before i spend more money on what turning into a brick?

Well, there is a good chance you've bricked your new display too. Mr. Fox had similar symptoms where he bricked two displays with Win10 + nvidia, so I'm curius to know if you had the 780Ms in or the 7970M in when the original brick happened. The nasty rootkit sticks around and bricks additional displays, so you maybe SOL unless you ask Mr. Fox to reprogram your LCD EEPROM and perform whatever purge is necessary to get rid of the rootkit.

Well that would kinda suck, but yes i had the 780m's in when all this happened, and i have had a brief conversion with Mr. Fox about what happened and have filled out the form and sent to dell but i doubt thats going anywhere and i know for sure they're not going to help out. After i put the new LCD screen on i had no gpu's in and I have placed new hdd and ssd that are still blank with no os installed and ive never been able to get it to post, but with my old lcd nothing works. The screen stays blank (dosen't illuminate) and the alienware dosent light up either, along with external monitor dosent seem to solve anything either. But yes recently i have been trying all combinations to get it to work but still nothing. Thanks for the response and before i throw it in the garbage i will have to talk to Mr. Fox.

Don't throw it in the garbage! I can always try my hand to reflash the EEPROM and make it useful again. Before you do anything, see if you can blind flash the BIOS back to overwrite whatever potential rootkit there is.
