    Hello All,

Was wondering if anyone had some custom themes they would share with us less talented types? I remember way back the "red and green" theme for the R1's that was amazing. :D

I had blue and yellow at one point, really nice. Rigth now Im red and white. I put the front grills to pulse slowly by enabling advance setting then putting on "morph". Put any colour on one side then the other to black. then duplicate the loop on the actions (at the bottom) and then reverse it, by putting black first then the colour. When enabled it pulses slowly. You can do this anywhere on the machine.

I haven't made any myself yet but if you click theme in command center and go to predefined themes there are some cool morphing ones in there that could give you a good base to work on and customize.

Well I could come up with a few... but how creative can you get ? It would be different if each key had a light.

I do like the green and yellow.

and for the holidays Green and Red sounds good :)

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m17x/403837-m17x-lighting-fx-themes.html

The old 007 red and green theme has got to the be the all time best.

    ---------------------------------------

MOD NOTE: For those new to AW, you cannot use other system (model) AlienFX themes.
M17x will not work on 18x, etc.
    Do not even try. ;)

100% no residue , when tear it off , your palmrest looks like brand new.

    I brought it here ;

    http://www.ebay.ca/itm/KH-Special-Laptop-Carbon-Skin-Fit-dell-Alienware-M18x-/140567509347?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20ba79f963

I did not apply the sticker on top cover , it spoil my awesomeness aluminium :D

Leather style is much cooler then cube/carbon when apply to alienware but cube gives you the 3d feels (hexagone) with Crysis combo.

Hope I wasn't misleading and the pics are Great! However I was hoping to spark an interest in a thread where users could post up custom themes for download. As BatBoy said, those themes in the M17x forum will not work on M18's.

Perhaps a 'M18x appearance customization' thread is in order?

    For visual themes, skins, etc.

    Thoughts?

NO more decals post! "Sorry I started it , lol"

Not sure if this related to Fx , because this is gaming mouse with 3 kind of led Red/Blue/Green , its called M.M.O 7 (release date probably around Christmas )

I think it fits my m18x + D3 headset perfectly.

This is not an AlienFX lighting theme, but maybe some of you will find this cool... it's an Windows 7 Alienware Theme with images I modified in Photoshop.

Glad you guys like it. I like the one on the right also. It's my favorite.

Maybe this weekend I can play around with Photoshop and come up with something like you are suggesting.

I've always found it difficult to locate good AMD wallpapers. They are usually ugly or refer to a specific CPU or GPU instead of being universal. Here are two AMD wallpapers that I like. I did the first one in Photoshop. The other I found somewhere on the web.

OK, here are a couple of themes along the lines of what you requested. As the desktop images change, the Intel and AMD/NVIDIA logos appear to fade in/fade out individually.

Windows 7 Alienware Core i7 / NVIDIA ThemePack

Windows 7 Alienware Core i7 / AMD ThemePack

These sample images below are the wallpaper images from each ThemePack showing the CPU and GPU logos at the same time:

    [IMG] [IMG]

Attached below are zip files with each of the individual images without a Windows 7 ThemePack:

    NVIDIA Wallpapers for Theme

    AMD Wallpapers for Theme

OK. Here they are with the new Core i7 logo... I added red eyes to the Alien head on one of the wallpapers and changed the glow to red for the logos on AMD version. (I included the green-eyed wallpaper, too. When the theme changes wallpapers the eyes switch from red glow to green glow... I think it looks cool.) The zip files are only the individual wallpapers and not a Windows 7 Themepack.

AMD Windows 7 Theme - new Core i7 Logo

AMD Wallpapers for Theme (zip file)

NVIDIA Windows 7 Theme - new Core i7 Logo

NVIDIA Wallpapers for Theme (zip file)

Note: the images are 1920x1200 so choose "center" rather than "stretch" for displaying them on the 1080p display. (I purposefully made them larger for anyone that wants to use them on an M17x R2 with 1200p RGB LED display.)

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5Xxcbtxw1WA?version=3&amp;hl=en_US&amp;hd=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5Xxcbtxw1WA?version=3&amp;hl=en_US&amp;hd=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='500' height="381" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Is there a way to make a single zone dark? Is there a way to make it all go dark until you press a key on the keyboard? My Toshiba is like that. You can set the delay for going dark from 30 second to on permanently.

Sure... in select the zone you don't want to have lighting and select black from the color wheel.
I don't think you can toggle a zone on/off through keystrokes. If there is a way to do that, I don't know how to do it.

You can... the touchpad is a "status zone" and it needs to be unchecked on the taskbar control menu to go dark with everything else. Uncheck it and it will.

    Hi All, :)

I have been looking around the forum for Lighting Themes for the M18X.
I found the thread for the M17X themes and tried downloading them and putting them in the themes directory but none of them work. I just get an error saying that the theme can not be opened. I am guessing its because they were created using a different version of the Alien FX software.

So if anyone fancies creating some themes and posting them in the thread that would be great. I think it would be good to see what people can create.
I am not very creative but would like to see what can be acheived even if its just a bit of fun.

    Happy themeing.

    Cheers

    MP :D

Mr Fox - I download the Nvida version of the desktop theme you posted. It appears the file with the Alien Heads Eyes RED is missing. Can you re-post please.

    Thanks
