Be very careful about this item. Even the Buy It Now price of £800 is way below the going rate.

I leafed through the seller's feedback and there're at least 3 buyers claiming that they were sold fake products. I'd put my money elsewhere tbh..

I just had a look at the eBay auction. The picture that the seller has provided shows an M18x with stickers on the palmrest - which Dell only put on the M18xR2, and NOT the M18xR1.
The seller claims the laptop has a GTX 580m SLi setup - of which is only available in the M18xR1. So the picture that the seller has provided is NOT the actual item.

So then I did a reverse image search on it... it lead to a review website which contained both pictures the seller had included in his auction:

Also, the seller seems to have sold exactly the same machine just recently - I had it in my watch list just for kicks....here's the link to it: Alienware M18x Extreme Gaming Laptop, Intel i7 | eBay

Sounds well suspect to me....but yeah, it is a steal - the only thing getting stolen would probably be the winning bidders dosh...

I'm not familiar with the ebay rules in that region of the world, but I would recommend those of you with an ebay account please report this user - he does not have permission to use those photos which are copyright material.

Thank you for pointing this out and bringing this to my attention.

Go to Google's image search and upload the image. That's how I do it anyway.

Hi guys, I was looking around in the forums to see if there is an area to sell laptops. I found this thread about somebody looking for an m18x. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I have a pretty much maxed out m18xR1 in perfect condition (No dents no scratches). The system is about 1.5 years old and has zero problems. I don't really want to put it up on eBay because I doubt the usual pc buyer can appreciate the tech on this machine. Here is a rundown of the specs:

    - M18x Space Black Anodized Aluminum
    - Intel Core i7 2920XM Overclocked Turbo Boost to 4.1GHz (8MB Cache)
    - 16GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 1600MHz
    - 18.4-inch WideFHD 1920 x 1080 WLED
    - Dual 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 6990M AMD CFX
    - Crucial M4 256GB (Boot) | 500GB Solid State Hybrid (Secondary Storage)
    - Bluray
    - Killer Wireless-N 1103 | Bluetooth 3.0 | WirelessHD Transmitter
    - Power supply and battery are new, recently replaced by Dell (LED meter on original battery stopped working)

I just moved and don't have my own room/desk, so I need a smaller machine to move around. Plus my programming job leaves very little time to game anymore :p Feel free to let others know about the system if they are interested. Cheers! Oh, before I forget the system still has another 2 years of accidental damage protection.

dunno why you think it is an steal. I looks like the seller has few sells, so maybe cause of that people wasnt willing to place a higher bid.
